Overview
The GIS team at WHM has assisted numerous clients with GIS mapping and map based analysis utilizing the most up-to-date data and technology. Our staff can make information readily available to our clients by helping visualize spatial relationships, producing statistical data and determining environmental concerns. WHM has utilized this technology to assist clients with property acquisition, environmental management, project planning and development, and feasibility studies for a wide variety of projects, including stream channel and wetland design, wind resource analysis, project feasibility studies, land cover studies, and topographic mapping.
Our staff uses data that is both publicly available through spatial database’s and privately acquired by our Survey team using GPS technologies. By integrating these services, as well as CAD, our firm has also had great success determining the suitability of a site for a specific development project. The end products we generate fulfill our client’s needs in planning, managing and decision making for all types of projects. This translates into a high probability of success using less construction effort and saving substantial funds with our efficient and effective use of these technologies.
Mapping
The intentional use of most geographic data is to display the data which allows the reader to visualize the project through a map. For mapping purposes, we use data collected by our survey team as well as public data that is available through spatial databases. By using these forms of data and utilizing GIS software and AutoCAD, WHM is able to create maps and study trends for any project on demand of the client.
Surveying
Our staff uses data acquired by our survey team using our GPS receiver that collects points at any feature. This data is collected in the field and post processed in the office where the data is then analyzed and visually displayed. Any point, line or boundary feature can be mapped and displayed to fulfill our clients’ needs in planning, managing and decision-making.
Land Analysis
WHM helps you answer questions and solve problems by looking at a given dataset and analyzing it to examine trends and study the landscape.
